How is the HPTP
designed?
High performing teams have become vital factors in the effective
leading and running of organizations and they are called on to produce in functional roles such as Research, Design, New product development, Manufacturing, Sales, HR, Finance, IT and the Supply Chain.
Further, these teams—intact, project-based, ad hoc and virtual—are increasingly cross-functional and cross-cultural in nature, as they work globally across national, geographic and functional boundaries. Team leadership and team membership therefore
are increasingly linked to team, business and strategy
development plus culture change – all key responsibilities
of leadership teams – and both leaders and members must acquire new competencies and behaviors to fulfill their expanded roles.
LIM's High Performing Team Process approach has been designed to address the issues of team leadership, membership, role clarity, shared values, and accountability, and the part each plays in the development of high performing teams that are wrestling with current business challenges.
While the leadership teams perform their important
leadership work, LIM designs interventions that allow them
to define and share leadership with their teams.
Our central belief is that adults learn most profoundly when they are engaged in their current work, involving challenges linked to their organization's strategic business plan.
LIM's High Performing Team Process approach consists of two to four custom-designed workshops based on the current work and current needs of the team. Meetings last 2-3 days each, and are spread over a period ranging from a year to 18 months. The actual time required will depend on the learning outcomes and task results established by the team leaders and members of the team.
Elements of Each Program
All Team Development meetings contain these basic elements:

Learning Coach or Coaches who create a supportive environment where participants can:
- Clarify and 'contract' their role and responsibilities
- Receive coaching in practicing new behaviors, tools and skills in a safe environment
- Learning Coaches introduce just-in-time Learning tools, techniques, and insights to the team, and also invite reflection so as to provide members with insight into the dynamics operating in their team's work environment.
